Randomized Clinical Trials Show That Veinlite® Is Better Than AccuVein® AV300 and VeinViewer® for Venous Access
Randomized Clinical Trials are the gold standard for assessing how a device compares to standard of care (current method of vein access). Several clinical trials have now been done to assess whether vein finder devices help improve vein access in children and adults. These devices include the Veinlite®, AccuVein® AV300, VeinViewer® and VeinLuminator™. The results show that the Veinlite® clearly improves vein access in children, while near infrared devices, such as AccuVein® AV300 and VeinViewer®, are NO better than standard of care. The following is a list of randomized clinical trials with a short summary of the results and the name of the device used. A full abstract of the publication can be obtained from the National Library of Medicine by clicking on the link below or from the web site :
Portable, lightweight, durable, single user device Patented side-transilluminator technology Veinlite® devices anchor the vein to prevent rolling, provides traction, raises the vein and acts as a local tourniquet Free 5-Year Extended Warranty. You've got our product? We've got your back! Proven in randomized clinical studies, Veinlite® is the only vein access tool to improve IV access success rates over the standard of care. No other technology for superficial veins – such as near-infrared (NIR) devices was found to offer any measurable improvement in vein access among adults and children.
IS SEEING THE VEIN ENOUGH FOR VEIN ACCESS ?
Vein access is one of the most commonly performed medical procedures carried out by health care workers. From blood draws to PICC lines, accessing veins is a critical part of delivering patient care. Most people assume that finding a vein is the most important factor in determining the success of an IV access attempt. While this sounds logical, researchers took an interest in this area and studied whether being better able to see a vein was enough to ensure successful venipuncture.
